After 40 years, 2016 is going to be a departure from the traditional California Healey Week. In a year with no Rendezvous, the Austin Healey Association of Southern California is sponsoring a classic Healey gathering in historic and beautiful Yosemite…and called “Yosemite Healey Week”. This will be the first known major Healey event in one of the most majestic National Parks in the country, if not the world.
The timing of this historic event will be the week following Memorial Day weekend, 2016. Arrival will be the afternoon of Wednesday, June 1st and departure on Sunday morning, June 5th. During that week, the itinerary will include at least two drives into the Yosemite valley, visit to the historic Wawona Hotel, cocktails and dinner with Healey friends, participation in a popular car show, competing in Rocker Cover Racing and culminating with a banquet dinner and awards ceremony on Saturday evening.
The headquarters for this epic event will be The Redwoods in Yosemite (http://redwoodsinyosemite.com). 120 cabins nestled in a community, some within walking distance to the historic Wawona Hotel.
For those participants who prefer a traditional hotel room over a cabin, rooms can be booked at the adjacent Wawona Hotel (http://yosemitepark.com/wawona) or the Tenaya Lodge (http://tenayalodge.com), under 10 miles away.
Because of the popularity of Yosemite, we expect that the cabins we have had set aside at the Redwoods will fill up fast, as well as the available rooms at the Wawona and Tenaya.
At the Redwoods, in addition to the cabin rental fee, a standard Yosemite daily occupation tax of 11% and a one-time damage waiver fee of $39.00 is charged. Three night minimum. For our group, they have waived the $75 cleanup fee; renters are expected to place dishes in dishwashers and deposit trash in provided bins when they leave. No free maid service provided during stay.
Sixty (60) days before the event, you will be charged a 50% deposit fee. The cancellation policy is shown below:
