From the President

Greetings to our Healey family. I trust this newsletter Hinds you all in good health and spirits. 2023-24 promises to be some fun Healey times with a lot of shows, gatherings, museums tours and some and/  or interesting drives.

Gatherings- I hope you can get your cars out and join us for the various car shows (Dana Point, Belmont Shores, Channel Islands, Laguna Beach, etc) and the weekly Cars and Coffee gatherings.

Always lots of great catching up with new (?) and improved (?) stories.... And for those of you spirited adventurers, you may want to check out the Golden Gate club’s website for upcoming drives and wine tours as well as the National club’s site for the get togethers planned by the Midwest and back east clubs.

CHW 2023- CHW 2023 is only a few weeks away- September Sept 18th through Sept 22nd. There will be some amazing scenic drives and catching up with our friends and Healey family. It looks like those of us that participated in the  international meet will not have our cars back yet. They are still somewhere in or near Europe, so won’t be available to join us at CHW 2023.

That said, with our members’ eclectic collections of BJ9s, the CHW gathering will be more interesting. Thanks to our “de facto” social director Steve Kirby, some of our members plan to caravan up and/or back from South Lake Tahoe with an overnight stay in Bishop. If you have not contacted Steve and are interested, please contact him as soon as possible. He might be able to help.

CHW 2024- The site/venue for CHW 2024 has been selected and the contract is being signed off. We will announce the location and plans at CHW 2023. It promises to be another great location for exercising our amazing cars with beautiful drives, wine tasting, drives along the beach and lots of other activities in the planning stages.

AHASC Board update- We unfortunately still have the club Historian position unHilled. It is a challenging job, but if interested, please let one of your board members know. We can use the help.

Christmas Party- As a calendar reminder, we plan to hold our annual Christmas party at the Shoreline Yacht Club the afternoon of December 17th. Will get more information out as soon as it is available.

New members- Please join me in welcoming a new member to our club: Michael Ovesen of Rancho Mirage, the proud owner of a 1966 BJ8 Mk3.

As always, I hope to see you at the Cars and Coffee get-togethers and other gatherings/ drives, where we can regale one another with our stories. Stay well.
