Super Car Sunday 6/4

The morning was gray and damp and I was happy to get off the freeway and into the Pierce College parking lot. A few minutes after 7:00 and the turnout was still sparse. I knew that would change with the sun coming out and the opportunity to look at this month’s marque, Shelby Cobras and GT’s. By 8:00am the parking lot was filling up, the foot traffic had increased, and Jack Gies and Fred Cohen were on hand with their Healey’s.

After consuming a breakfast burrito and a couple of cups of coffee, answering questions about Healy’s in general, and the differences in the three cars on hand, it was time to wander through the show and check out the cars. Cobras were on hand  in various paint schemes including a highly polished aluminum- body. There were originals, expensive, and replicas, not as  expensive, Also Ford GT’s, from early models to the more recent aerodynamic and fast GT’ s. I then strolled up and down the lanes of cars looking at the varied makes and models that had been driven to the show. By now it was after 9:00 and I headed for home, another car-filled early morning in the books.
