Zimmerman Automobile Driving Museum British Car Show

The plan for this Saturday morning was to meet up with some fellow Healey club members in El Segundo and drive to the Zimmerman Auto Museum for their British Car Show. This June gloom morning provided perfect Healey driving weather.

The air was crisp and cool as I proceeded to drive my BJ8 with the top down from my city of San Gabriel in the San Gabriel Valley and proceeded to maneuver the various L.A.

freeways on the way to our El Segundo meeting location.

Arriving at the Starbucks parking lot at Mariposa Ave and PCH I met up with Greg Aden, George McHarris and Tim McNiff. We drove a couple of blocks to the museum and were greeted by Dex Kaytis, who was perfectly parked in front; the rest of us Healey peeps lined up right behind him in the perfect location, right in front of the entrance to the museum! Our Healey’s were perfectly arranged for all to view and enjoy! Greg had some very young attendees take some photos while sitting in his Sprite! Fun time for these youngsters. A late arrival, Jeff Wallace, ended up parking his Healey Blue over white 3000 MkII on the curb adjacent to our location.

After spending the afternoon exchanging Healey & English car stories, we moved about enjoying the other English marques; Lotus, Triumph, MG and a beautifully restored Jaguar XKE, all while listening to live British themed music! As we assembled for the awards ceremony our Austin Healey club members did great! Dex and Greg each had honorable mentions for their BT7 and racing Sprite respectively.

Congratulations! And yours truly was awarded a British Excellence certiNicate for my single-light BJ8. I was then interviewed by Miss ZADM 2023 for the Museum Facebook page. Congrats to all! Then it was time to go our separate ways home until our next Healey gathering.
