Announcing the NEW AHASC Forum

Published on 2/17/2020

I am happy to announce that, with the help of our webmaster Janet Sowell, we have added a Forum feature to the club website that now allows members to discuss issues relative to their Healeys and club matters of interest. This capability has been requested by several new members who are either new to the Healey world or the SoCal area and seek knowledge and direction from experienced club members on issues involving their Healeys. This is, in a sense, a local version of the British Car Forum which has been around for many years on the internet. You will find our discussion Forum on the horizontal menu at www.austin-healey.org.

Instructions on How to Use the Club Forum

Since this feature is for members only, you must be signed on (Id and password required). Once you click on the Forums link, you will see a list of discussion categories, broken down by topic. The categories, are further broken down by threads which involve member questions and answers to the thread topic. Be sure to click on the first category “Forum News” which has a tutorial on “How to Use the Forum”.

There are several settings required to configure the Forum module to your specific use. The Forum, when properly used, should become a valuable resource for experienced, longtime members to impart their knowledge on all things Healey.

I encourage all members to use this tool and actively help others in need. Peruse the categories and threads and you will see how it works. Pose questions you have and assist others by answering their questions, if you can. In this way, we can assist newer, less experienced members to avoid the hard lessons we have learned over the years.

I will act as the Forum moderator for the time being and will be monitoring Forum usage. I request all members to follow the Forum policies (click on the link on the upper right of the Forum screen). If you have any questions, please let me know at mscroggie@aol.com. If I cannot address your issue, I will forward it on to Janet to either answer or research. Thanks, and please let me or Steve Kirby know what you think of this new feature. Also, join me in thanking Janet for setting up this Forum module.

Cheers!

Mike Scroggie
