Balboa Fun Zone & Tustin Legacy 3/3

It was another lovely, clear, but COLDDD morning for our drive to the Balboa Peninsula and Tustin Legacy Car Shows. Dexter drove his big Healey with his son Clay riding shotgun and Clay's wife, Monica, followed with her cool, sporty Mini Cooper (newer w/turbo) to Balboa and I met them there in my Black BJ8. Upon arrival I was surprised that John and our leader Alice were there with Dr. Brown. The Dr. drove his wonderfully restored Jaguar XK120 with his lovely daughter, and soon to be new Bug-eye driver, plus Nancy Asahina and Steve Shriver were on hand with his MGB.

We headed for our favorite breakfast and some chatting, then walked back to our cars to be surprised by the appearance of our good friend, George McHarris in his lovely 100-4 AH. There was some more picture taking by Alice (all photos by Alice) and then we headed north on Interstate 55 to The Tustin gathering, featuring all German Automobiles and a great variety of featured cars were on display.

A good showing of other American and European autos was also represented . We parked all together and resumed more chatting and looking. We had a great time as always.

We said our goodbyes and Dexter let his son Clay drive the very nice 1960 BT7 home with me leading the way.

I have to mention that we all missed our Editor, Tim, as he was feeling sleepy and too cold to make the show, Chuck Lakowski was a little under the weather and also wisely stayed home to recoup. Our buddy Bob Bolling was busy selling at the Long Beach Car Swap Meet, and finally where was the Orange County usual participants??? We missed them all.

Perhaps by this coming weekend we will see more folks participating at the La Canada and Golden Cove Shows! Get those Healey's out on the road, the weather is just right for hitting them thar Hills and Byways.
