So far it looks like we are skipping winter this year. The good news is, although a bit chilly, we can still get our cars out for some get-togethers and drives. Now is a good time to do those updates you were thinking about in preparation for several great shows coming up: SJC car show 2/10, Festival of Whales 3/3, and the Seal Beach car show 4/27.
As always, please keep our advertisers and CHW 2024 sponsors in mind as you are doing your updates and repairs.
California Healey Week 2024- As a reminder, the CHW 2024 registration has been open for a couple of months now. We are currently at about 65% of our goal of 70 cars/120 attendees. CHW 2024 promises to be a great get-together with great drives along some of the most beautiful coastline in the world, wine tasting opportunities at several award-winning wineries, a tour of Hearst Castle as well as our great car show. If you haven’t signed up yet, please do so. Go to “Events” and May 13-17, 2024 in the club calendar. And now would be a good time to get into the back of your closet and find your old polyester leisure suits, Ditto or Wrangler jeans, Angel Flight or Tobias pants and board shorts (for you So Cal natives) for the AHASC 50th anniversary theme night. We are taking recommendations for your favorite tunes from 1974 as well....
Rendezvous 2024- As mentioned in prior newsletters, as CHW 2024 wraps up, Steve Kirby has coordinated a continuation trip to join the Austin Healey Owners Association of British Columbia for Rendezvous 2024. As part of that trip, we will spend a couple of weeks touring thru British Columbia, including Victoria and Whistler. As always with Steve’s tours, it promises to be a great trip.
New members- Please join me in welcoming two new members to our club: Michael Walkey of Coto de Caza and Steven McIntosh of Laguna Beach. Michael has a 67 BJ8 Mk3 and Steven has a 60 BT7.
Membership Renewals- As a reminder, if you have not yet renewed your membership, please do so. Mike Scroggie is waiting in eager anticipation. Also, you may want to consider joining the national club if you are not already a member. They have some great resources and a great magazine.
As always, I hope to see you at the Cars & Coffee get-togethers and other gatherings/ drives, where we can regale one another with our stories. Stay well and try to stay warm and dry (if by chance it does rain) driving this winter.
