From the President

I hope you had a chance to spend time with your friends, family and loved ones over the holidays. I also hope you were able to join our Healey family at the Rose Parade route drive on New Year’s Eve and the Tour d’Orange on New Year’s Day. Both great drives/ get-togethers. With those behind us, now is a good time to work on the little things to get ready for the spring. Please keep in mind our advertisers and CHW 2024 sponsors in your updates & repairs.

Christmas Party- The holiday party was a great success. We had 74 folks sign up with a lot of catching up by our Healey family. Once again, Phil Caliva won the Spirit Award. Go Phil! We had a great collection of toys and collected $470 for batteries, both for Toys-for-Tots. A shout out to Phil Caliva and his nephew Ryun Wolf who took the toys to the collection point as well as shopping for the batteries. Our club members did a great job that will help so many kids have a merrier Christmas.

CHW 2024- The CHW 2024 registration has been open for over a month now. We are currently at about 50% of our goal of 70 cars/ 120 registrants. CHW 2024 promises to be a great get-together with great drives, wine tasting, tours and a car show. If you haven’t signed up yet, please do so. Go to “Events” and May 13-17, 2024 in the calendar.

Rendezvous 2024- As mentioned last month, as CHW 2024 wraps up, Steve Kirby has coordinated a continuation tour to join the Austin Healey Association of British Columbia for Rendezvous 2024. As part of that trip, we will spend a couple of weeks touring thru British Columbia. As always with Steve’s tours, it promises to be a great trip.

New members- Please join me in welcoming a new member to our club: John Pike from Mission Viejo. John has a ‘60 Healey. Welcome, John.

Membership Renewals- It’s that time of year again to renew your membership. If you haven’t renewed yet, please go to our website to do so.

And you may want to consider joining the national club if you are not a member. They have some great resources and a great magazine.

As always, I hope to see you at the Cars & Coffee get-togethers and other gatherings/ drives, where we can regale one another with our stories. Stay well and try to stay warm and dry while driving this winter.
