Inland Empire Farmer Boys 5/6

Greetings Group, If you missed our gathering this month, you missed a really good one.

I generally start out commenting on the weather. We had great weather. Nuff said.

The first eye opener of the day was Bob Upton's 2000 BMW M5 prototype wagon. A rare custom build. The BMW factory built a prototype E39 M5 Sport Touring for a show in Germany. It never went into production. So, why not build one! MCM in Rancho Cucamonga built two. 400+ V8 HP, Getrag 6 speed manual and limited slip differential. Factory says 0 to 60 in 4.5 sec. and top speed of 186 mph.

Still fast even by today’s standards.

The next eye opener was Ted Garlands '20 Corvette Z51. A former track school car that's already broken in and sorted out. These cars are retired after a year by the track school and are available to purchase. https://www.dcmotorcars.com/ DC Motors 4530 E La Palma, Anaheim Hills, CA 92807 The group went inside for breakfast and Andy Pierson showed up with his recently finished '61 Austin Healey 3000. After breakfast the group descended on his car to admire his achievement. It was the Pinal special eye opener of the day. A "fuel injected" '61 Austin Healey 3000. Finally on the road again after a 7-year full restoration. He brought one back and it's a FUELLY! The throttle bodies install between the intake manifold and modified HD8 SU carbs to retain a stockish look. Congratulations Andy! Well done! The injection kit is available from Kevin Eagling at Classic Fuel Injection LTD.
