Happy St. Patrick’s Day. I hope you get a chance to share a pint or at least celebrate with our fellow Irish supporters. I also hope you all had a great St. Valentine’s day with your loved ones and Fat Tuesday celebrations for our revelers.
Don’t forget to get out and enjoy your cars between the storms. As usual, there are lots of great adventures coming up, so you should be able to find a way to enjoy your car. Also join me in celebrating Steve Heck and Terry Cowan getting their cars back from Europe and joining us in our upcoming adventures.
Gatherings- There are two great events coming up besides the weekly C&C and get togethers. The Festival of Whales in Dana Point is planned for Sunday March 5th with a get together on the evening of the 4th at the Dana West Yacht Club.
The event is once again being coordinated by Mike Scroggie.
The 2nd big near-term event is the Nethercutt Museum tour planned for Saturday April 15th.
Peter Roses is coordinating our tour. It promises to be a memorable event.
There are an additional couple of fun events planned in April including the Queens English car show April 23rd at Woodley Park (where we are always well represented) and the Seal Beach car show on April 29th where we have a great group of club members and friends joining.
New Members- Please join me in welcoming our newest member Harvey Erdle who hails from Riverside. Welcome to our Healey family! Our support- As mentioned last month, as a club, we have donated funds to a technical institute- TechForce Foundation in Phoenix for a student’s scholarship focused on automotive restoration. We also donated funds to the Healey Museum in the Netherlands to help them maintain the museum.
Future events/ get-togethers- Steve Kirby continues the coordination of the European Healey Meet tour. The cars begin the shipping process on March 10th with a post drop-off lunch planned at Eatalian in Gardena- Great food and company if you’re in the area and want to toast our intrepid adventurers. Make sure you let Steve know if you plan to attend the luncheon, so he can get an accurate headcount for the reservation.
The GGAHC continues to finalize the planning for California Healey Week (CHW) in Lake Tahoe planned for September Sept 18th through Sept 22nd. The registration is now open on the GGAHC website. If you haven’t signed up yet, please do so. A key activity at CHW is the GGAHC has acquired an early BN-1 barn find that they will be raffling or auctioning off during the CHW. More details to follow.
Dues renewal- We continue to make good progress on the club membership renewals both local and as part of the national club. If you have not renewed yet, please do so as soon as you can. They have made it pretty easy through our Club Express websites.
