Balboa Fun Zone & Legacy Tustin 10/9

Another great Sunday driving our Healey’s to car events. I left Hermosa beach at 0550 and headed south to meet Chuck Lakowski by the off ramp of the Southbound 405 Fwy. and Bellflower Blvd., we proceeded Southwest down to Hwy 55, then south to our favorite Croissant and Coffee location on the Balboa Peninsula by the Balboa Fun Zone.

It is always nice to get our treats and then tailgate by the Healey's with our small, but great group, consisting of Chuck Lakowski, Alice Johnson/John Hummer, our fearless leader Tim McNiff, Tom and Page Rubinate, and of course, myself.

We had a good time at Balboa, but our two-fer car show drew us north on Fwy. 55 and on to the Legacy/Tustin show, featured cars of the day - Orphan Cars. Well, our Healey's Rit the requirement.

We drove in to Rind a pleasant surprise, our great buddy Tony Trentacost was already parked. We were shocked to see him up and about since he is recovering from a serious and lengthy back operation. He also wins the award for most metal in his body, other than me, and that is why we were so glad to see him (atta BOY Tony, welcome back Paisan!!!.).

We walked about and spotted an interesting selection of Model A's, many Porsches of different models, the usual Ferraris/other Italian cars, a the closest to her and Tony was happy to let her sit in the car. As you look at the photos of Leeann, you see what I mean about what a great young lady she is. She made our day and it gave us an opportunity to introduce a new young person into our car world and become a member of the Healey family.

Photos thanks to Tim and Alice.

As always, Ciao
