Hope all is well with my fellow Healey enthusiasts. Lots going on in our Healey world.
First of all, I would like to let you know we have three new members in our club.
Vito Triglia joined in September. Vito is from Los Angeles and has a 61 MKI bugeye. Raymond Lewis from Newport Beach and Amanda Walker from Huntington Beach both joined in October.
Raymond has a 61 BT7 and Amanda has a 70 MGB. Please join me in welcoming them to our community.
European adventure- We successfully completed our European tour and are all back home safely. As always, Steve did his typical OUTSTANDING job planning our trip. We started in England at the Goodwood Revival then worked our way through France and the wine country, mountains of the Pyrenees (some scary roads), then Andorra and continued through Monaco to Cannes and on to Tuscany and finishing in Milan.
The food and wine all along the way was OUTSTANDING!!! All along the way, we got to know our new co-travelers well, all GREAT folks.
It was truly a lifetime adventure. Steve is now working to get several of the cars shipped to Norway for the international event and more epic driving next year. Steve will be providing a write- up of our trip in an upcoming newsletter but suspect there will be lots of stories exchanged at the holiday party. Stay tuned Upcoming get togethers - where we can catch up and tell our Healey stories. These include the drive to and tour of the Planes of Fame Air Museum in Chino on Nov 5th. For those that choose, it will include a picture opportunity for our cars with one of the WWII aircraft. We are working to coordinate that aircraft to be a F4U Corsair and to get Chic Linde and his Mini-woodie to join us, where I hope he can share some of his stories and experiences. Registration is open, but nearly full for the photo ops. Also planned is the annual Holiday gathering at the Shoreline Yacht Club in Long Beach, Sunday Dec 11th. Please look for the announcement in the next couple of days. It promises to be a great way to catch up with our friends and fellow Healey enthusiasts, welcome our new members, and share some of our recent adventures and Healey Ah-Ha moments.
Other key Healey gatherings - the first is the international Healey meet in Geiranger, Norway, June 12 through June 18, 2023. Steve has an additional driving tour planned both before and after the gathering, starting June 7th and wrapping up July 3rd. It looks like Steve has a couple of openings so if interested, please get hold of Steve ASAP. The Golden Gate club continues to plan the CHW2023. The plan is to stay at a venue in beautiful South Lake Tahoe. The dates continue to be planned for Sept 18th – 22nd 2023, so that the folks attending the international meet will be able to get their cars back and join the event. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
On Next year’s dues- We are working with the national club on the 2023 dues. The amount will be finalized at the delegates meeting in November. Will get the information out as soon as it is settled. Stay tuned. In addition, there will be a minor increase for local AHASC members as well, due to insurance cost increase. The announcement should be out in a few days.
In closing, please keep getting your Healeys out and driving them. It was amazing to see the attention we got driving through Europe. They always bring smiles and elicit stories from folks. They are truly one of the most classic/ beautiful cars built.
Ciao (that was for Phil)!
