Hello all you Healeyphiles, I hope you all had a Happy and Healthy Holiday Season! One is beginning to wonder if there ever will be a “new normal”. Let’s all hope and pray. These are precious years of our lives, and I am sure we are all feeling a bit cheated.
Hopefully your holidays were Merry and Bright.
First, the big news. With the Golden Gate Club cancelling next May’s Rendezvous in Tahoe, it was up to us to organize a California Healey Week. After 40+ years, we are certainly not going jeopardize our “streak”. With such a short time to plan your Board of Directors decided to go with a venue that we know well.....Palm Springs.
Our initial thought of returning to the location of our successful 2015 event, the Embassy Suites Resort in La Quinta, didn’t work out. But I am happy to report that we have found an even nicer venue at the DoubleTree Hotel and Golf Resort in Cathedral City. Very convenient to the freeway and close to all the restaurants and shopping in downtown Palm Springs.
The hotel features recently renovated and quite reasonably priced luxury rooms, most with golf course and mountain views. Plenty of meeting and socializing space and our Car Show will be held right on site around the lake. All your favorite events will be offered, including the Poker Run, Scenic Drive, Silent Auction, Tech Sessions, a Ladies Event and more.
This year we will feature Jensen Healey for the first time as it will be the 50th Anniversary of the marque. We hope to have a good number on display. So please mark your calendars for May 9 -13 (Monday to Friday). Registration will open shortly. When you register you will be sent a code to use to book your discounted room rate.
Please don’t try to book the hotel until you get that.
