From the President

Hello all you Healeyphiles, Despite California stepping back into the Purple Tier, there is a light at the end of the tunnel......a vaccine on the horizon. Perhaps by Conclave time next May, things will be back to something approaching normal. What that normal will look like is anything but certain.

Unfortunately, we have had to cancel our Holiday Party at the Shoreline Yacht Club. There was just no way it would work with all-outdoor seating, etc.

However, we are going to be holding a Virtual Holiday Party via Zoom, tentatively scheduled for Sunday, December 20. At that Party you will hear from the Board of Directors on the State of the Club and we will also be presenting the Spirit Award. Stay tuned for more details on that.

Our Toys for Tots campaign will go forward in a modi^ied format. We have established ^ive collection points around LA, Orange, and Riverside counties where you can drop off your new, unwrapped toys to a Club volunteer. Please try to be extra generous this year as it has been a hard one for Marine families just like everyone else. Look for details elsewhere in this issue.

I attended the National Austin Healey Club of America’s Delegates Meeting last month (of course virtually). They had more delegates attend the online meeting then usually show up for the in-person meetings! All three California Clubs were represented which is a rarity. You will ^ind some meeting notes further in.

On another topic, we got word from the European Healey Meet organizers that the 6th European Meet in Norway has been moved from 2022 to 2023. Let’s hope that is not a sign of things to come.

I am happy to announce that by the time you read this, the Conclave 2021 Regalia Store will be open.

We really have an outstanding selection of logo items to tempt you this time. Thanks to Regalia Chairwoman Kathy Scroggie there are some very nice items for the Ladies too. Check it out at www.conclave2021-regalia.com.

Finally, let me wish you All a very Happy Holiday Season. At the most social time of the year, I am sure we will all look back and appreciate even more when we had the freedom and con^idence to freely socialize with friends and family. Those days will come again.

Keep the faith and get in line for the vaccine.
