Another great turnout of our local members and their cars at the UA, with Kive Healey’s and nine members in attendance. Jeff Boysen, Phil Caliva, Dex Kaytis, and Tim McNiff had their “Big” Healey’s, Chuck Lakowski drove his just-restored Jensen Healey, and Emil Joseph brought an ‘85 Miata. Members driving “other” cars were Steve Gerow, Jack Gies and myself (with left arm in a sling).
Our foothill communities had been plagued with smoke and ash due to the Kires in the San Gabriel Mountains, which makes breathing and being outside nearly intolerable. Yet, despite this health issue our members arrived in force to catch up on everyone’s news and checkout the other cars and our Healeys.
A number of us are attending a Conclave Planning meeting set for September 24-26 in Big Bear, site of the 2021 Conclave in May. The agenda and lists of topics for the meeting are very thorough, which speaks to Steve Kirby’s planning and organizational skills.
More on the meeting later, probably in the Healey Motor News. As usual, around 8:00 AM a number of us headed out to the Wild Oak Café for breakfast and to continue the socializing. With October a cooler month, and hopefully with indoor dining allowed, try to join us next month on October 17 for the next UA Meet. Until then-
