AHASC RECOGNIZED BY THE INTERNATIONAL HEALEY MUSEUM

Steve Kirby | Published on 4/1/2020

Last week the Club received a nice plaque from the International Healey Museum recognizing our support for the museum in 2019.

Last year the Club donated $2000 to support the ongoing efforts of the museum in preserving and displaying the history and legacy of all things Healey.

Museum Chairman Hans van de Kerkhof wrote in an accompanying letter: “Last year the Healey Museum received a lot of support from the Healey Clubs around the world. It proves that there are still many enthusiastic Healey drivers who want to keep the magic surrounding the Austin Healey cars alive.

Thanks to your donations, the Museum was not only able to stay an important meeting place for Healey lovers and have its running costs largely covered, but also to have the famous Sprite Room collection shipped from Australia to the Museum. This important collection (archives, photos, memorabilia, etc.) dedicated to the Austin Healey Sprite can now be admired by the visitors to the Museum.” In 2018 several members of our Club enjoyed a day at the Museum, including a great lunch based on regional cuisine. We had a fantastic time! The museum is located in Vreeland, which is a short, scenic drive from Amsterdam. AHASC members enjoy free entry into the Museum as a reward for our support.

I expect that the Club will be making a further donation to the Museum in 2020. For more info on the Museum, visit www.healeymuseum.nl.
