What a change of lifestyle we are currently undergoing with this “self-isolation” directive. It does not mean that we must stay inside our homes totally. It is a good opportunity to spend time in our garages or shops and do all the little things on our cars etc. that we have been putting off. I plan on Qinally straightening up my shop and sorting out all the nuts, bolts and screws that I have accumulated over the years from the various Bugeye and other projects. I may even put another coat of polish on the cars (my least favorite thing).
As far as club events it appears that everything has either been cancelled or postponed to later in the year. Queens English Car Show, originally planned for April 5th, has been rescheduled to September 27th. Peter Roses' Tech Session is being postponed to July 18th. For those planning on attending non-club events: San Marino Motor Classic is rescheduled to August 23rd, La Jolla Concours is rescheduled to September 19th-20th, and the Seal Beach Classic Car Show has been rescheduled for October 17th. The real bummer is the cancellation of the Lake Tahoe Rendezvous, but the Scottish Games at the OC Fairgrounds on May 23-24, the British Car Show at the Automobile Driving Museum June 20th, and the Central Coast British Car Show July 19th are still scheduled to happen at this time. For those hoping to get out and visit one of the car Museums, unfortunately most are closed, including the Petersen, Nethercutt, and ADM, but all are offering virtual tours I have not heard of any of the normal monthly events being cancelled as most are informal, but given the current "No Gathering" mandate I will update the calendar on the club web site if I hear of any changes.
Hopefully this will pass, and we can get back together enjoying our friendships and cars! Keep safe and see you at the events!
