Peninsula Cars and Coffee - 12/7

Published on 12/7/2019

Early December was a time of a lot of rain. I didn’t go to Brits at Belmont Shore on the 4th because it was raining. Some of the local guys who go to Silver Spur every month said it was going to rain Saturday morning and had decided to meet Phil Caliva at one of the Hermosa Beach breakfast spots at 8:00am. I woke up early and saw that it had rained during the night but things were drying out and the skies were fairly clear. I started up the Healey and was at the new  location, the Promenade off Indian Peak Rd by 7am. Things were still damp from the rain and turnout was sparse. A 1935 Delahaye 138-135 Sport Race Car showed up. It was beautiful. No other AH members showed up before I left around 7:45 and drove to Hermosa Beach for breakfast. At the restaurant were Phil and Nancy Caliva, Dave Beugen, me and five South Bay car friends. This was Phil’s first social outing since his accident.
