The “marque” for this month at Pierce College was classic, Mercedes Benz’s. I was interested to see what kind of classics would make an appearance, so I left Glendale heading west on the 101 Fwy to Woodland Hills. Exiting the freeway, I joined a line of classic cars all heading to the show.
As I entered the parking lot, I spotted Fred Cohen’s 100 and pulled in next to him. We were soon joined by Tom Spangler and Dex Kaytis, both driving their yellow Bugeyes, and Phil Caliva in his black and white BJ8. After a few turns around the parking area checking out the cars we remarked on the sparse turnout of really classic Mercedes. There was a nice 300 Gull Wing and a couple of early 60’s sedans and coupes, but not the turnout I expected.
Dex and Phil were soon ready to leave. Another show was waiting for them and they headed out. Tom and I spent some more time talking to admirers of our Healeys and by 9:15 Tom was ready to find a place to get breakfast and I was heading back to Glendale.
