Petersen Museum Breakfast Cruise In - 1/6

The Petersen Museum rescheduled the monthly cruise in to honor Carroll Shelby.  This month’s designated marques were the Shelby Cobra and the Shelby Mustangs.  But like every Breakfast Cruise In, all cars and trucks and motorcycles are invited.  The event was scheduled for a 9:00am start so Phil Caliva, Dex Kaytis and I decided to attend after the Super Car Sunday at Pierce College.

About 8:40 we started engines and pulled out of the Pierce College parking lot and headed for the 101 Fwy East.  We transitioned onto the 405 Fwy South and headed through the Sepulveda Pass.

Exiting at Wilshire Blvd we cruised along until we approached Beverly Hills and ran into a major detour.  The Golden Globes event was already stressing traffic.  We dropped down to Santa Monica Blvd turned east and reconnected with Wilshire Blvd.

Arriving at the Petersen we found quite a number of Cobras, Mustangs, even an early AC racecar, and a one-off race car a 1958 Williams Special.  More coffe and a bagel with schmear, and we were checking out the cars.  With the burn off of the morning mist it warmed up enough to shed the jackets and make the drive back to Glendale in a light pullover.

An interesting car day, or should I say "Caliva Day" - multiple car show in one day!
