It's hard to believe the end of 2018 is approaching and another great year of Healey’ing is behind us.
For those of us in the South Bay, we just lost one of the area’s Classic Car and British Car patriarchs in Mick Felder, who recently passed away after an accident riding one of his classic British Motorcycles. Mick had restored numerous British cars over the years and personally owned an MG Magnette and TR3 and was in the process of restoring a 100-6 he has had for over 30 years. His shop, Felder’s Body Shop & Auto Sales, was a landmark on PCH in Hermosa Beach and he will be missed by all.
We had a great year of member participation in the 2018 events and the battle for 2nd place in the Bill Barnett Spirit Award was extremely competitive this year. Less than 15 points separated the next three places. With Phil ineligible for the 2019 campaign it should be a great competition.
The December Super Car Sunday is now the Motor 4 Toy’s show and they are expecting over 2,000 cars and the number of toys collected is mind boggling as well as for a great cause. Do not forget to sign up for the Annual Holiday Party on December 16th at the Shoreline Yacht Club. This is always a great time for all. I will be letting everyone know the site of this years Tour de Orange County when they let us know just before the event.
I tried to add some new and interesting events in 2018 and as a reminder we are actively seeking some more new and different events for 2019. If you know of a great event in your area that we can put on the calendar let me know.
See you at the events
