It’s hard to believe that today is Summer Solstice; it seems that the New Year’s Tour d’Orange was just yesterday or is it that I am getting older and time just flies by.
It was sad to hear that we lost two of our members in the last month or so Al Eldridge and Sam Thoman. While I did not know either of them well, I did know Al from the Golden Cove meets where he was there with either his Riley, Jaguar or Big Healey on a monthly basis. I also enjoyed sitting with he and his wife at last year’s Holiday Party. I also have fond memories of seeing Sam and Denise celebrating their wedding anniversary with the club every year at the annual Festival of Whales event in Dana Point and them goading me into getting the decadent Double Chocolate dessert or maybe it was the other way around. They both will be missed! The European contingent will have returned by now. Hopefully everyone has enjoyed Mike and Steve’s blogs as much as I did and living the days vicariously with them.
We are planning a tech session in Orange County in early August at Jim Liberty’s shop after the San Clemente Outlets meet. He has a great looking Bugeye, a California Mille Miglia Morgan, as well as his Porsche’s for us to enjoy. If anyone has any suggestions or topics to be presented at the session please let me know as we are short of topics.
See you at the events!
