Recently, I was requested to organize a group of British cars to attend a “British Invasion” concert organized by the city of Dana Point. Realizing it was planned for a Sunday afternoon in south Orange County, I recognized that our club alone would not likely provide enough cars. So, I used my contact list from other OC events to recruit a number of British cars to attend. The concert was scheduled to run from 2:00PM to 6:00PM in the Sea Terrace Park in Dana Point. We had a good turnout of a dozen British cars, including Healeys, MGs, Triumphs, Jaguars and one Cobra. Unfortunately, Tom Spangler was not able to attend, as his Sprite was rear ended after leaving the Golden Cove event that morning.
The concert was well attended and our cars were very popular, with a lot of interested spectators.
The bands played 60’s British music, including the Stones, Beatles, etc. There were a number of British food and drink venues to keep the audience well fed and quenched. Of course, we came accompanied with our own wine and appetizers! Attending from the club were Mike Biss and Anna Johansson, Jim & Sally Young, Steve & Michele Dulson and Mike & Kathy Scroggie.
