Enderle Classic Car Show - 8/20

For 19 years the Enderle Center in Tustin has been   the location of the Al Enderle Classic Car show.

This year, with the passing of Al, it was also the   first “Memorial” car show. So I headed down to   Tustin early Sunday morning to meet up with   other club members for the show. When I arrived   at the meet up location I saw a BJ8 in the entry   line and two other cars at the registration table.

The BJ8 was driven by the Reverend Dr. Barmore,   whom I hadn’t seen since last year’s Holiday Party.

The other two cars were driven by Steve Prothero,   a recently joined member who has had his BJ8   about two years and John Hummer and wife Alice   Johnson, also new members from   Baltimore with their 1957 BN4.

Once we were into the show   parking area we found spaces,   parked, and got to know one   another and our cars as we   polished chrome, cleaned glass   and mirrors, and wiped down the   cars with instant detailer. As a   community involved event that   raises money for a number of   Tustin charitable organizations   everyone gets involved. The Fire   Department presented the Flag   during the Opening ceremonies,   Miss Tustin sang the National   Anthem, a local preacher gave an   invocation, the Orange County   Pops Orchestra played and   various youth groups performed   during the day.

With over 200 cars of varying   makes, models and years there   was lots to look at and admire.

By 10:00am the foot traffic had really picked up   and our Healey’s were getting a lot of attention.

George McHarris, past-President and Las Vegas   correspondent for the newsletter stopped by to   chat, check out the cars and meet the new   members. By the time the trophies were being   awarded the day had turned rather warm and with   none of the Healeys having been singled out for an   award in the Foreign Car prior to 1974 Class we   made an exit and headed home.
