United Artists – 6/17

Our monthly meeting at the UA Theater had the normal attendees plus some newcomers and some long distance drivers, so all in all a good showing. Locally we had Lou Fisher, Steve Gerow, John Hedblom, Tim McNiff and myself. Newcomer was Dave Thorne and the long-distance drivers were Tom Spangler and Phil Caliva. The day started out hot even for a standard La Canada day, so the group seemed to break up into clusters of 3-5 members checking out the cars and talking all things automotive.

Jon Doherty was on hand with his 100 -6 (inherited from his grandfather, long-time club member Mal Doherty) looking for advice on trailering his car to Monterey in September and a nagging issue about a miss at speed. I took the opportunity to show him my new trailer, explained the limitations on trailering weights and made suggestions on renting. Regarding the miss we looked at an ignition cap and wires I had on hand to go over simple electrical checks and how to de-terminate and terminate the ignition wires. I hope to hear back this week on his progress on the ignition cap and plug wire forensics.

Meeting at the UA affords members an opportunity to run your Healey issues and upgrades by our Healey owners who are near experts on the Marque.

Consider joining us next month on July 15th.

We will be discussing the drive the next day to the Channel Islands All-British car show in Oxnard.

Until then-Peter
