Rocker Cover Tech Session - 6/3

On June 3rd, we had a RCR Tech Session at Phil Caliva’s shop in Torrance. The purpose was to help those interested in building a rocker cover racer for Healey Week in Monterey this September. The event was well attended, with a number of members caravanning over from the Peninsula Seniors gathering, while others met us at Phil’s at 10 am.

After touring Phil’s man cave and seeing all his car and racing paraphernalia, we began the tech session, which we videoed and posted on the homepage of our website and Youtube, see: https:// www.youtube.com/watch? v=VE4o9yspViQ&feature=youtu.be.

Members attending included Phil & Nancy Caliva, Duke Hingley, Greg Aden, Tim McNiff, Mike Scroggie, Corkey Holt, Tony Trentacost, Jay Miller, George Merino, Steve Gerow, Dennis Williams, Peter Roses, Jim Young, Ed Neumeyer and Steve Kirby.

Rocker Cover Racing will be held on Wednesday of Healey Week. The track will be set up on Monday afternoon, September 11th , so interested parties can test their cars on the actual track on Monday late-afternoon, anytime Tuesday and Wednesday early-

morning. See the RCR description on the Monterey Healey Week website at: http:// www.healeyweek2017.com/rocker-cover-races/. If you need a rocker cover, a couple of Healey 6-cylinder covers are available from the club and Greg Aden has some sprite 4-cylinder covers. Wheels are available for purchase from the club....just contact me ($5. Each plus shipping).

Following the Tech Session, we had a nice lunch of appetizers and sandwiches. Many thanks to Phil & Nancy Caliva for opening up their shop to us.
