The first annual LA Classic Car Show was held the weekend of January 27-29 at the LA Convention Center and the Club had an impressive display. Our booth was located just inside the main entry doors and in most cases ours were among the first cars that the attendees saw. We had a full booth all weekend.
The Club was well represented with the following cars on display: Bugeye – Greg Aden, Custom BN2 – Marty Hovivian, 100-6 – Peter Roses, 3000 MkI BT7 – Dex Kaytis, 3000 MkIII BJ8 – Jay Miller.
Also on display along the Grand Boulevard of Cars was Bill Hoyt’s beautiful 100-4.
Throughout the weekend we had numerous visitors from the Club in our Hospitality Tent, as well as Healey owners and admirers from around the region. Everyone enjoyed a chance to get off their feet for a bit, as the Show was enormous, covering the entire South Hall with over 600 vehicles of all types.
On Saturday, a group of about forty five members took the short stroll to the historic El Cholo Mexican Restaurant for a copious lunch. Alas, the Healeys in the booth took home no hardware, but Bill Hoyt’s car won the People’s Choice Award in the Import Class. The Austin Healey Club was well represented and much appreciated by the thousands in attendance.
