From the Vice President

Published on 2/1/2017

Has it stopped raining yet?  I’m afraid to look outside.

I guess we’re lucky to live in SoCal where we pretty much have year ‘round driving weather.  In fact, all my British cars seem to run a little better when it’s cool and damp…. I guess they were made for it.  So really, its only rain that can get most of us o# the road and result in Healey’s being parked in garages.  Seems like that has been the norm for most weekends for a while.

Well, let’s hope that trend is coming to an end, because it’s beginning to look a lot like car season $to paraphrase the old Christmas tune%.  The show season kicks o# on Saturday, February 4th in San Juan Capistrano.  I have not attended this event before, though I am registered this year.  President Mike assures me that it’s a fun and

relaxing day in the park.  So why not join us?  You can register at the gate…. see the ?yer in this newsletter.

A couple of weeks later we’ll be holding the 10th Annual Surf and Turf Rally in Orange County, in conjunction with the Jaguar Owner’s Club.  Last year we had a small

contingent from the Healey Club and I am hoping for a MUCH larger turnout this year.  Since most of you

haven’t attended in the past, let me give you a preview:  Free brunch at the Jaguar Regional Training Center in Irvine, loaded Simple Green Goodie Bag, a backroads tour through OC with Roadside Trivia and a Poker Run, all capped o# with a FREE lunch in the ultimate Man Cave.  Lots of ra'e and poker run prizes and it all

bene?ts the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  We’ve raised over (25,000 in the past nine years, so come on out and help us push the total over (30k.

Finally, looking ahead to March, the Club is again

sponsoring the British Invasion which is held as part of the Dana Point Festival of the Whales.  We’ll be

organizing a large display of British cars right along the harbor.  Dinner at the Yacht Club thanks George

Merino, a discounted overnight rate at the Dana Point Marina Inn and a brunch on Sunday!  Watch for more details.

So put the battery charger on…it’s time for some Healey FUN!
