This is our second meeting since returning from California Healey Week, and for those who took the extra week to tour the Wine Country and California Coast an opportunity to further the discussion on trailers.  I, for one, had a number of issues with my normally reliable Healey that have made me consider purchasing a trailer.  Since a number of the UA attendees are in the same boat we are looking at discounts for quantity purchases.  I will give more details on our current front runners in another update; but suffice to say the loading and unloading on these trailers will be a breeze and we are now down to accessories.

So, besides general Healey updates and the status of cars at Russ Thompson’s for repairs, our morning was just beginning as a group of five were off to Newcomb’s Ranch for Breakfast.  Newcomb’s is 28 miles up the Angeles Crest Highway, on one of the finest driving roads in Southern California.  After topping off our tanks we were off to Newcomb’s, elevation 5340’ (cooler weather).  We were in luck that road work along the Angels Crest provided a short stop.

Consequently, we had some distance between ourselves and traffic ahead; the last 14 miles seemed like we had the road to ourselves.  Once at Newcomb’s we settled in for a leisurely breakfast and more trailer and Healey talk.

Sometime after 10:00 AM we were back on the road and heading home.  One of the best days for weather and Healey driving that anyone could remember.  Try and join us at the UA for Healey talk and unexpected drives.

Until next month’s meeting on August 20th.
