Super Car Sunday 5/1

It’s May Day and instead of dancing around the May Pole I decided to take in Ferrari Day in Woodland Hills. Drove out the 101 to Topanga Canyon Blvd in bright sunshine which quickly turned into overcast. The mall parking lot was filled to capacity with showers and lookers. The Ferrari turnout was impressive with every type and model of car on display I was joined by club members Phil Caliva, in his MkI “nasty boy”, and Rich Jones, in his white 1955 TBird. Phil’s car drew a lot of attention from real car-nuts who wanted to talk about his engine, transmission and rear-end. As Phil and Rich continued to shoot the breeze with any interested car lover I took a quick tour of the parking lot. I checked out a really cool Cadillac convertible from the early 60’s, a couple of McLarens, and two cars that had been tricked out as “Wasteland Cars”, armed with machine guns and gatling guns. The quantity and quality of cars on display is unbelievable, with cars from early in the 20th century to street legal race cars.
