We are now in the beginning of peak car show season- With the Festival of the Whales, Queens English and the British parts exchange at Steve Kirby’s shop behind us, we are coming up on the Seal Beach car show and California Healey Week 2026. Both events promise to be great opportunities to catch up with old friends and hopefully make some new ones.
Also on the horizon is the opening of the Austin Healey 75th anniversary International Healey Meet website. Keep your eyes peeled for the upcoming announcement.
With a heavy heart, I need to let you know that we have lost another member. Russ Thompson’s long-time partner Joyce Maeda passed mid-April. Her passing came as a shock to everyone that knows Russ and Joyce.
Please keep them both in your thoughts and prayers. She will be missed.
CHW 2026- Yep, only a few days away... We have continued to get additional sign-ups.
We are up to 65 registrations and 110 attendees, a great turnout. We have folks coming from the Golden Gate, San Diego, Oregon, and Michigan clubs as well as AHASC. For those that can’t join us, we will have a great write-up in next month’s Healey Motor News.
75th Anniversary International Healey Meet- It’s time. By the time this issue of the HMN publication is out, the website will be open for sign-ups. In addition, the Regalia store is open as well. It can be found at IHM2027.com. It’s hard to believe it’s only a little over a year away. We are now at over 220 pre-registrations. If interested, please go onto the site and check it out, including a video that talks about Lake Tahoe. As a reminder, the 75th International Healey Meet will be held in Lake Tahoe June 2027. There will be lots of great cars, exhibits, drives, and social events planned to keep everyone busy.
New Members- Please join me in welcoming our new members- Naveed Hussain, John Mitchell, and Richard Thomas. Naveed is from Palos Verdes Peninsula. John is from San Diego and has a 67 BJ8 and will be joining us at CHW 2026. Richard is from Long Beach and has a 66 BJ8 MkIII. Welcome, Naveed, John and Richard.
As always, when considering having work done on your cars, please consider our sponsors.
They help our club and provide rare (albeit vanishing) and needed services and products. Safe motoring, stay well and see you at the upcoming events.
