With numerous club members returning from the Branson National Conclave, several that normally attend the festival missed this year’s event. However, the Club was well represented on both days with 8 cars on Saturday and 5 on Sunday.
Due to construction at the Fairgrounds the car show location was moved back to the area outside the stadium entrance. While a little more crowded it turned out to be a much better location with the crowds going to and from the stadium events stopping by to admire the cars.
On Saturday the Club was represented by Phil Caliva, Clay & Monica Kaytis, John Hummer and Alice Johnson, George McHarris and Chris Savage in their Big Healey’s, Greg Aden in a Bugeye, and Steve Johnson in his Jensen Healey. Additionally, Nancy Asahina and Steve attended with Steve’s MGB; maybe one day Nancy will drive her Bugeye! On Sunday Tim McNiff, Phil Caliva and Clay & Monica Kaytis attended in their Big Healey’s. Mike Biss and Anna Johansson were in their MGTC and Tom Biss drove the Lotus 11.
It was a great weekend, and I highly recommend that more members come and enjoy the great atmosphere and food. In addition to the normal events: highland games, Celtic dancing, sheep herding, competition between Drum Majors and Pipe and Drum bands, this year they added jousting on horseback and sword and shield battles. Plus, there is a great Whiskey tasting area with great music to enjoy while enjoying a few.
