From the President

Hard to believe we are almost halfway through Spring!!!!! Well, typical for So Cal our spring has been great. The weather has cooperated for getting out driving, meeting up with friends for cars and coffee, and other get- togethers. There were also some great gatherings this last month including the Queens English at Woodley Park, Rolling British Car Day in central San Diego County, and the Seal Beach car show. In fact, we had 18 members show off their cars at the Seal Beach show. These shows were a great beginning to the car show season. Our Healey family had great turnouts for each event and as usual lots of storytelling. On a sad note, one of our newer members- Dex’s daughter-in- law, Monica’s Sprite died, so she wasn’t able to join us for the Seal Beach show in her “new” car.

It is now at the shop for some engine repair. She did join us though, coming with her husband / Dex’s son Clay (also a new member), so we got to catch up with all the latest.

CHW 2025- CHW 2025 is only 5 months away until we tour Yosemite, arguably one of the most beautiful places to visit/ tour in the US, maybe even the world. We have 37 registrations and 68 registrants planning to attend so far. Over the next few weeks, we will be reaching out for volunteers for the drives and event coordination, so stay tuned. Also, as a reminder, David Nock from the GGAHC is setting up a fall colors tour just before CHW2025. David’s tour will pass through some of the gold rush back roads and Sierra passes looking for the perfect fall scenery.

CHW 2025 is the second week of October 2025, so I hope to see you there.

75th Anniversary International Healey Meet- The planning for the 75th International Healey Meet in Lake Tahoe in June of 2027 continues.

Steve Kirby is starting the coordination of the VIPs and special cars and boats. We also held our quarterly meeting of the Board to continue to refine the planning. We already have international attendees showing interest. We plan to open registration soon for those in North America, so keep a look-out for the notification.

New members- Please join me in welcoming two new members- Greg Hotz and Roy Price. Greg hails from Sherman Oaks and has a 66 BJ8 Mk3. Roy is from Ventura and has a 60 BT7 Mk1. Greg may be in need of some help/ advice. His mechanic left with his car in a “million” pieces, so will reach out to Figure out what kind of help he is looking for. Welcome to our new members.
