Winter is behind us, and all the rain has created an amazing spring; the wildflowers are out and in full bloom.
Don’t miss the opportunity to get your cars out and tour the wildflower fields.
It is time well spent. As always, Mike Scroggie did a great job pulling together the Festival of Whales dinner at the Dana West Yacht Club and British Invasion car show in Dana Point Harbor. Luckily, the weather cooperated. Now on to the Seal Beach car show on Saturday 4/27 (my favorite) and Queens English on Sunday 4/28. As a reminder, please consider taking advantage of our club sponsors. I certainly have. Their contributions really help offset our club costs at California Healey Week.
CHW 2024- CHW 2024 is only 1 1⁄2 months away and 3 weeks until the price increases for registration. We are now at about 97% of our goal of 70 cars/ 120 attendees. Peter Roses and Brian Hubbard have put together some of the most scenic drives along the California coastline and amazing back roads. The activities include great drives, wine tasting opportunities at several award-winning wineries, a tour of Hearst Castle and others as well as our great people’s choice car show. If you haven’t signed up yet, please do so. Go to “Events” and May 13-17, 2024, in the club calendar. Don’t forget to look through the old trunks and back of your closets to find your “memorable” outfits from 1974 for the banquet dinner.
Rendezvous 2024- Steve Kirby is putting the Iinal touches on the Rendezvous 2024 British Columbia tour planning. If interested, please contact Steve. He may have an opening due to a cancellation. As part of that trip, we will spend a couple of weeks touring thru British Columbia, including Victoria and Whistler. As always with Steve’s tours, it promises to be a great trip.
75th Anniversary of Austin Healey meet- As mentioned in the prior write-up, our Club, along with the Golden Gate Austin Healey Club (GGAHC) and the Austin Healey Club of America (AHCA), are working together to plan an International Meet in Lake Tahoe mid-2027.
Several of our folks have submitted recommendations for the Event logo. Over the next couple of weeks, the committee will select the winner and we will send out a survey to see how many folks are interested in attending. We will continue to keep you posted as the activities come up.
New members- Please join me in welcoming two new members- William Carroll and Phillip Bright.
William hails from Pasadena and has a 1965 AN8 MK III. Phillip hails from Rancho Mirage.
As always, I hope to see you at the Cars & Coffee get-togethers and upcoming car shows. Stay well and get out and see those wildflowers.
